The festival will be opened by the play "Doll" performed by the LeBe Theatre from Graz, while the play "Agency for Happiness" by the Gavran Theatre from Zagreb with subtitles in German is scheduled for the second day, and on the third day the audience will be able to see the play "Ice Cream" by the DUO68 Theatre from the German city of Isny.
On the last day of the festival, an ensemble from Munich will give a concert performance of Gavran's play "Creon's Antigone", and afterwards there will be a literary meeting where Miro Gavran will present six of his books published in the German language in Austria and Germany. The literary meeting will be moderated by Gavran's translator into German, Tihomir Glowatzky.
GavranFest was launched in 2003 at the Jan Palarik Theatre in the Slovak city of Trnava, and it has so far been held in five countries: Slovakia (Trnava), the Czech Republic (Prague), Poland (Krakow), Germany (Augsburg) and Serbia (Belgrade). The organiser of this year's Festival is the Croatian House in Munich, and the producers are Neda Caktaš and Dragan Čotić.
On the occasion of the festival, Gavran noted that in the past years he had had 24 premieres in Germany and Austria.
Miro Gavran is the most performed Croatian playwright the country and abroad. His dramas and comedies had more than 400 theatrical premieres on all continents, and his plays had more than four million viewers.
