She was speaking at the 15th celebration of Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters, which drew over a thousand hunters from across Croatia. The event was organised by the Croatian Hunting Association.
Vučković noted that she collaborates with hunters due to their role in environmental protection, emphasising the importance of preserving nature and effectively managing essential resources like soil, water, and air.
Science, Education, and Youth Minister Radovan Fuchs congratulated hunters on this holiday, which is celebrated worldwide.
Croatia has a long hunting tradition of which it can be proud, and the Croatian Hunting Association, marking its 99th anniversary this year, plays an important role in nature protection and biodiversity conservation, he said.
The president of the Croatian Hunting Association, Ivica Budor, said hunters are a key element in nature, helping to maintain and regulate wildlife populations in accordance with the Hunting Act.
