Thirty-one percent set aside €50-100 a month, while 23% have said that they don't save at all, according to the findings of the survey, published on Monday ahead of the World Savings Day, observed on 31 October.
Those aged 35-59 save the most per month, €105, followed by those aged 15-34 with an average of €71, while those aged 60 and over save €42 a month.

Sixty-six percent of the respondents in Croatia save by setting aside the amount left at the end of the month.
Broken down by gender, men save €82 on average and women €70.
Austrians top ranking
Broken down by country in central and east Europe, Austrians save the most, managing to set aside €308 on average every month.
Czech citizens rank second with the average monthly saving of €134, and Slovaks follow with €133.
Hungarians save €116, and in comparison to the trends in 2023, they have achieved the biggest rise, of €11, in monthly savings.
Czechs save less this year than in 2023, when they saved an average of €144 a month.
Emergencies cited by Croats as the most important reason to save
As for the personal reasons for saving, 65% of respondents in Croatia do it for emergencies. The second most important reason cited by respondents was to have a financial backing for themselves and their family (45%), and the third most important reason was to have enough money upon retirement (21%).
