The "72 Hours without Compromise” campaign will be held in Split and another 20 towns and municipalities throughout Croatia.
Civil society associations in Split will carry out this annual humanitarian action for 11th consecutive time. In this Adriatic city, young undergraduates and youth of the Student Catholic Centre Split (SKAC St.) will be engaged in humanitarian programmes.
So far over 600 volunteers from Split and nearby municipalities have been engaged in activities such as socialising with persons with disabilities, organising creative workshops and sports events, cleaning and renovating dwellings of the weak and the elderly and some other humanitarian and ecological activities.
SKAC St. calls on all young people aged 15-35 to join them in the forthcoming campaign.
"72 Hours without Compromise" was devised and launched in Germany in 1995 when a group of young people decided to find a way to encourage their peers to volunteer and give themselves to others uncompromisingly and unconditionally, especially to those on the margins of society.
Every year, over 3,500 young volunteers take part in over 450 social and environmental activities during "72 Hours without Compromise" in 10 European countries.
