Thus, the HGI, which was not represented in the Kotor assembly in the last four years, would be again in that local legislative body.
The preliminary results show that this party that represents ethnic Croats in Montenegro mustered 4.75% of the vote, and the D'Hondt method of the distribution of the seats shows that it won a seat.
The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the Democrats- Movement Europe Now (Democrats-PES) won 10 seats each.
Vladimir Jokić of Democrats-PES, who is the current mayor, said that he would again form a coalition government in the city.
During Sunday's elections, 10,104 voters out of 18,498 eligible voters went to the polls, and the turnout was 54.6%. A total of 12 slates ran in the elections.
In this biggest city in the Bay of Kotor, an estimated 1,500 Croats reside. Dijana Milošević, the HGI's lead candidate in the local polls, emphasised before the polls that Montenegro is their country and Kotor is their home, though she noted that Kotor is currently "wounded, exhausted, and transformed."
