This new public call from the Fund encourages the use of solar energy for electricity generation in households. Applications will open on 4 November.
Eligible applicants include citizens who installed a photovoltaic system between 1 January and 29 December 2023 and have received a permanent operation certificate, as well as those who applied for funding last year but failed to submit all the required documentation, provided they meet the conditions.
Funding comes from the temporary levy defined by the law on the implementation of the EU Council Regulation 2022/1854, which was aimed at addressing high energy prices. The intent of the law was to invest profits from this levy into residential solar power systems, enabling citizens to produce electricity for their own needs and become more energy-independent.
Qualified applicants will receive co-financing up to 50% of the total investment, or up to €600 per installed kilowatt of the solar power system.
The Fund says solarisation is a crucial step in Croatia's green transition.
The number of funding requests for solar power installations in 2023 reflects a positive trend toward household energy independence, which is also evident in the high interest for the energy renovation of family homes, with a record €120 million in funding.
Nearly 12,000 applications were received, many of which involved the installation of renewable energy systems in households. The Fund also noted that additional funding will be available in the coming period.
