The space offers reliable, up-to-date information about the United States and hosts interactive programs on diverse topics such as career development and English language learning. Visitors can also use the eLibraryUSA digital library, which provides access to a wide range of databases featuring scientific research, thematic journals, academic articles, e-books, multimedia resources, and more.
Erica King from the U.S. Embassy, who officially opened the space via video link, described the American Space as a cultural and information hub designed to make information about the U.S. easily accessible. In addition to language learning and insights into American culture, the space will provide initial guidance on studying in the U.S. For more detailed information, visitors can consult with advisors from the embassy.
With over 650 such spaces in 150 countries, American Spaces offer welcoming environments where people can explore the U.S. through various programs, lectures, books, films, and magazines.
These spaces are often located in embassies, schools, libraries, and partner institutions. In Croatia, there are currently seven American Spaces, located in Osijek, Rijeka, Vukovar, Zadar, Zagreb, Karlovac, and now in Koprivnica.
