The 16-year-old Croatian swimmer Emma Mečić grabbed the silver in the 400m freestyle (S9) in the Para Swimming World Championship in Manchester last August. Sinovčić, who was declared the best male athlete by the Committee for the third time, won the silver in the 100-meter backstroke in the S6 category at the same championship.
The best team were table tennis players: Helena Dretar Karić and Anđela Mužinić Vincetić who became European champions for the fifth time in a row after they celebrated in the doubles competition at the European Championship in Sheffield last September.
In 2023, Croatian para-athletes took part in 84 international contests, including 13 world and 15 European championships plus 13 world cups.
Overall medal tally: 307 medals
Last year, Croatian representative grabbed 307 medals: 119 golds, 92 silvers and 96 bronze medals at Paralympic contests.
