INA CEO Zsuzsanna Ortutay named most powerful woman in Croatian business

Author: Hari Alfeo

ZAGREB, 7 Dec (Hina) - The Lider business weekly named the ten most powerful women in Croatian business at Thursday's Women in Business conference and the title of most powerful went to Zsuzsanna Ortutay, president of the INA oil company's management board.

Among the most powerful women are also Simona Kostrevc, president of Petrol's management board, Antonija Glavaš, member of the PPD gas company's management board, Irena Langer-Breznik, the new president of M-San Group's management board, Martina Dalić (Podravka), Lada Tedeschi Fiorio (Atlantic Group), Anita Letica (Philip Morris Zagreb), Iva Pripuz Špekuljuk, (C.I.O.S. Group), Jasenka Joukhadar (Medical Intertrade) and Nataša Rapaić (Hrvatski Telekom).

In choosing the most powerful women in Croatian business, Lider applies the criterion of governance power, or the total revenue of the companies they run, in which the magazine is helped by Dun & Bradstreet, as well as an estimate of their influence not just in their companies but in the economy and society as a whole.

The governance power of the 300 most powerful women in 166 Croatian companies rose to a record €67.9 billion last year, up 43% on 2021.

Although it may seem that there is a higher presence of women in management, the bulk of the big rise in women's governance power can be attributed to the fact that last year the biggest firms in Croatia significantly increased their revenues, Lider says.

Lider's list of the 1,000 biggest shows a 32% increase in Croatian companies' revenues in 2022. The 129 consolidated groups and independent companies whose revenue exceeds HRK 1 billion (€133m) saw an increase of 38%.
