The Dresden Philharmonic will play the overture to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro opera and one of the masterpieces of the Romantic orchestra literature - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 36.
The orchestra will be conducted by Pole Krzysztof Urbański, the chief conductor of the Orchestra Della Svizzera Italiana and the principal guest conductor of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
The Dresden Philharmonic, which throughout its glorious history was conducted by composer-conductors such as Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Dvořák and Strauss, will be joined at the Zagreb concert by star violoncellist Julia Hagen, and together they will perform Camille Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1 in A Minor, Op. 33.
