In a note accompanying the issue, Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman says that in the tenth year of Croatia's EU membership, two strategic goals were realised, accession to the euro and Schengen areas, and that thereby Croatia became one of 15 states in the world which are members of NATO, the European Union, the eurozone, and the Schengen Area of free travel.
The values on which the EU rests, the importance of unity and solidarity which Croatia strongly advocates as a member state, are especially emphasised in the present time of the aggression on Ukraine, when the security and energy stability of the entire European continent are topical issues, the minister says.
"In cooperation with its European partners, Croatia is continuing to actively participate in solving the political, social and economic challenges Europe is facing in order to achieve a secure, just and prosperous common European future," he adds.
