During the ceremony Ivanić -Grad Mayor Javor Bojan Leš said that the two hospitals were similar in a number of things, but differ in the treatment they provide, and that they see an opportunity for cooperation and new joint investments.
He noted that the treatment in the Azerbaijani hospital was organized at a higher level, and they have 16 independent hotels - spas with a daily capacity of 3,500 patients. He underscored that Ivanić-Grad was planning to develop and increase its capacities.
The mayor of Naftalan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vugar Novruzov, said that the charter they signed today in Ivanić-Grad was very symbolic because they were the only two cities in the world that have a source of Naphtalan oil. The transfer of knowledge and experience will be extremely important to them as part of the cooperation, he said.
The special hospital for medical rehabilitation Naftalan from Ivanić-Grad was opened in 1989 and specialises in the treatment of inflammatory rheumatic diseases, joint and spine diseases, and skin diseases such as psoriasis and neurodermatitis. Naphtalan oil is used for treatment.
