Opening the event in Čakovec, county head Matija Posavec said the city was chosen to host because of "our openness and cooperation with other regions, states and embassies, a result of all the awards we have won and the values on which we are positioning Međimurje in Croatia, Europe and the whole world."
Mayor Ljerka Cividini said the conference "paves the way to the future".
Before the conference was opened, Posavec and Cividini visited the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service's Čakovec station together with Israeli Ambassador Gary Koren and UK Ambassador Simon Thomas.
The guests said they were delighted by what they saw and their participation in the conference.
Drones are one of the fastest growing and perhaps most significant industries, which encompasses all spheres of our lives, said Thomas.
The use of drones in all areas is increasingly big, even in the delivery of our parcels or the food we order, and it's a trend that will be increasingly present in our lives, he added.
Koren said he was pleased that Israeli companies were also at the conference.
This is an excellent opportunity to present new technologies and I'm confident that Israeli and Croatian companies will continue to cooperate in the progress of the drone industry, which is very important in the world, he added.
