ZAGREB, 16 Feb (Hina) - The island of Krk was hit by an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shortly before 1100 hrs on Thursday, the Croatian Seismological Service said immediately after the first reports that the tremor was felt in western Croatia.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) first reported that a quake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale was registered on the northern Croatian island of Krk.
The Croatian service gave an update informing that the epicentre was two kilometres west of the town of Draga Bašćanska on the island of Krk.
