Chamber of Commerce of State of Israel to BiH set up in Mostar

Author: Marija Šestan

ZAGREB, 2 Sept (Hina) - The Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce opened its chamber in Mostar, southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Thursday evening.

The Israel-BiH Chamber of Commerce was formally opened by the president of the Croatian National Assembly of BiH and the HDZ BiH party, Dragan Čović, and Israeli Ambassador Noah Gal Gendler.

Israel's non-resident Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose residence is in Tirana, said at the ceremony that next year, the State of Israel would be the partner country of the Mostar Economy Fair.

The aim of this chamber in Mostar is to provide services to business people from Israel and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We see this as a crucial event for the future. Many companies from Israel will be able to get acquainted with this part of the world, said the Israeli ambassador.

My ministry has recently decided that Israel will be the sponsor of the economy fair which will take place in Mostar in April 2023. This will enable a large number of Israeli companies to come here for that fair, said the diplomat.

Gandler went on to say that the two countries could develop their business cooperation in agriculture, tourism and high technology.

He highlighted  the role of businessman Amir Gross Kabiri in promoting the bilateral relations after his company Abraham Group restarted the production in the Mostar-based ailing Aluminij factory two years ago.

Kabiri will be the head of the newly-opened Chamber.

The branch offices of this chamber are to be set up in Sarajevo and Banja Luka in the future.

Kabiri said that the Israeli chamber in Bosnia and Herzegovina will serve as a bridge between the two economies.

Our aim is to create strong foundations for Israeli investments in renewables, agricultural technology and high technologies, he added.

Earlier in the day, Čović and the Israeli delegation visited a local Jewish cemetery to pay tribute to 137 Jews who had been killed in the Second World War.
