The competition will again be held in Novi Marof under the auspices of the Rimac Group, bringing together 50 student teams from Europe, Africa and Asia as well as the best judges from the automobile industry and Formula 1, organisers said on Wednesday.
About 1,200 people will be involved in the event, including 200 in organisation.
"It is one of the few events in Croatia and Southeast Europe where one can see so much technology in one place", organiser Tibor Kezelj of the Formula Student Alpe Adria (FSAA) association said, adding that teams from Zagreb, Rijeka and Split will also participate in the event.
Deputy County head Silvija Zagorec said Varaždin's FSAA association had won the status of an official Formula Student event in just one year. "That's why we have the opportunity to host one of 13 such events in the world."
