Croatia logs 6,310 new COVID cases, most yet in one day

ZAGREB, 4 Nov (Hina) - In the past 24 hours Croatia has registered 6,310 new cases of coronavirus and 32 deaths, the national COVID response team reported on Thursday.

That is the highest number of new cases yet in one day since the outbreak of the pandemic. The record until now was 4,620, which was registered on 10 December 2020.

There are currently 25,628 active cases in the country including 1,680 hospitalised patients with 219 of them being on ventilators.

At the same time, there are 26,010 people self-isolating.

Since the start of the epidemic in Croatia in February 2020, there have been 483,142 cases and 9,364 people have died as a consequence. A total of 448,150 people have recovered with 3,350 recovering in the past 24 hours.

To date, a total of 3,140,604 tests have been conducted and of that number 14,374 have been  taken in the past 24 hours when the positivity rate was 44%.

As of Wednesday evening, a total of 3,641,758 doses of vaccines have been administered with 47.38% of the total population or 56.73% of the adult population having received at least one dose. On 3  November 2021, 14,379 doses were administered and 6,288 of those the first dose.

A total of 1,922,763 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine while 1,806,387 are fully vaccinated, or 53.42% of the adult population.
