Croatian Tourism Month kicks off on Friday with 35% price discounts

ZAGREB, 30 Sept (Hina) - Croatian Tourism Month is set to start on 1 October when many tourism services and experiences will be offered at a 35% discount, the Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ) announced on Thursday, announcing the campaign which is being organised with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

During the campaign, travellers will be able to visit various parts of Croatia and "consume numerous tourist products and services, from accommodation, transport, cultural, historical, natural sights and tourist attractions to catering services and various experiences," the HTZ says on its website.

The campaign is supported by a media campaign with additional information and the intention is to stimulate providers of tourism services to be included in the campaign so that citizens and domestic tourists utilise this opportunity to travel at affordable prices.

"There are still close to 200,000 tourists still staying in our country, and the post-season and autumn period are ideal for a short vacation and discovering new destinations. We believe there will be very good results with this project, i.e. in its contribution to the overall tourist results this year,"  the HTZ director Kristjan Staničić was quoted as saying. He also underscored the importance of further compliance with all epidemiological measures and responsible behavior.

Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac underlined however that the campaign wishes to stimulate domestic and foreign tourists to explore Croatia, but also to extend the season.

"Due to the great interest in last year's “Vacation-Worthy Week”, we have decided that this year, across the country, tourists will have a range of services available at special benefits and discounts of at least 35 percent throughout October. We believe this will be an additional motivation for them to travel and discover destinations they have not yet visited," the minister was quoted as saying.
