Tokyo Paralympics: Croatia gets 7 medals, China first in medal tally

ZAGREB, 5 Sept (Hina) - The 2020 Summer Paralympics medal table shows that China was the most successful country, with 207 medals, including 96 golds, while Croatia's para-athletes won seven medal during the 24 August - 5 September Games in Tokyo.

Croatia's medalists are: Velimir Šandor of Croatia who won a silver medal in the discus throw F52 category,  Anđela Mužinić and Helena Dretar Karić with a bronze in the table tennis team competition, Ivan Katanušić with a silver in the discus throw F64 category, Dino Sinovčić with a bronze in the men's 100m backstroke S6, Mikela Ristoski who won a bronze in the long jump event for female athletes with intellectual disabilities, Deni Černi with a bronze in the men's shot put F33 event and Ivan Mikulić who captured a silver in the men's taekwondo +75kg category.

Thus, these three silvers and four bronze medals put Croatia on the 65th place on the medal tally which includes 86 countries whose athletes won medals during the Tokyo Paralympics in which participants from 163 countries competed.

Croatia has won a total of 26 medals in summer Paralympics since its first attendance of the Barcelona games.
