Health minister reports 184 new coronavirus cases

Author: Roberta Mlinarić

ZAGREB, 10 June (Hina) - In the past 24 hours 184 new coronavirus cases were registered in Croatia and the share of new infections in the total number of tests is 3.39%, Health Minister Vili Beroš said at a government session on Thursday.

Speaking of the current epidemiological situation, Beroš said that the number of infections and hospitalisations was falling and that 482 persons were hospitalised, including 48 who were on ventilators.

Hospitals are gradually reducing their capacity for the treatment of COVID-19 patients and are getting back to their usual activities, he said.

The minister said that 40.8% of the adult population had been vaccinated so far and that more than 616,000 people had received both doses.

A total of 1,986,929 vaccine doses have been administered. In order to additionally facilitate access to vaccination, some counties have introduced mobile teams to vaccinate residents of smaller communities.

"The epidemiological situation is getting better and better but we must not relax," Beroš said, calling once again on citizens who have not registered for vaccination to do so.
