Corporate deposits totalled HRK 80.7 billion in February 2021, increasing by HRK 10.1 billion or 14.3% year-on-year (based on transactions), while household deposits amounted to HRK 228.6 billion, increasing by HRK 15.2 billion or 7.2% from February 2020, the HNB's data show.
Kuna transaction account deposits went up by HRK 13.4 billion or 24.3% to HRK 68.3 billion, while kuna savings and time deposits decreased by HRK 1.5 billion or 6.4% on the year to HRK 21.8 billion, the HNB reported.
Household and corporate lending grows
Total lending, which accounts for 98% of total domestic placements, excluding the central government, reached HRK 234.2 billion in February 2021, increasing by HRK 7.3 billion or 3.2% (based on transactions) from February 2020, the HNB said.
Corporate lending slowed down on the year from 6.2% to 4.4%, so loans to the corporate sector went up by HRK 3.7 billion to HRK 87.1 billion.
Household lending, the HNB said, increased by HRK 2.2 billion or 1.6% y-o-y, totalling HRK 136.9 billion.
The annual growth of loans to the population decelerated from 1.8% to 1.6%, but the growth of housing loans accelerated from 8.2% to 8.7%, with an HRK 5 billion increase to HRK 63.5 billion.
On the other hand, general-purpose cash loans continued to drop, from -2.3% to -3%, decreasing by HRK 1.6 billion on the year to HRK 52.1 billion, the HNB reported.
