Addressing a ceremony marking the NSK Day, Plenković praised the NSK for promoting knowledge, education and cultural awareness, adding that its high level of professionalism had also resulted in a well-organised and successful network of libraries across the country.
The NSK Day is observed on 22 February, marking 22 February 1483 when the first book, a missal, was printed in the Croatian language and the Glagolitic alphabet. It was the first book in Europe not printed in the Latin alphabet. Only 11 incomplete copies exist, six of which in Croatia and five abroad. Two copies can be viewed at the NSK.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Culture and Media Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Minister of Science and Education Radovan Fuchs, and Zagreb University Rector Damir Boras.
