Under the name "Travel to Croatia with Google Arts&Culture -- Croatia: Hearts and Crafts", on the website artsandculture.google.com/project/croatia-intangible-heritage, everyone interested can discover stories about Croatian intangible heritage and tradition through a display of crafts, festivities and festivals, music, food, and people.
Some of the elements the project features include agave lace made at the Benedictine Convent in the city of Hvar, the Sinjska Alka knight's tournament, the Tribunj donkey race, the Nijemo Kolo silent circle dance of the Dalmatian hinterland, Klapa multipart a capella singing of Dalmatia, and the Zagorski Strukli speciality of the Croatian Zagorje region.
By using Google's Street View feature in the collection, people from all over the world can navigate many breathtaking places, as Google describes them, such as the Adriatic coast, the Adriatic Sea and its underwater world, Korcula Island and the Moreska sword dance, Lastovo Island and Dubrovnik.
Underscoring that Croatia is among countries with the largest number of intangible cultural heritage elements on the UNESCO list, Josko Mrndze, manager for the Adriatic region at Google, thanked all partners in the project, which, he said, was not easy to realise in the current time of pandemic.
