Author: Hari Alfeo

ZAGREB, July 10 (Hina) - Over the past 24 hours Croatia has confirmed a record 116 new coronavirus cases, the national COVID-19 response team said on Friday and imposed measures for gatherings of more than 100 people.

The number of active cases is 1,038, including 104 hospitalised patients, four of whom are on ventilators, and two persons have died, the team said in a press release.

Since February 25, when the first infection was recorded in Croatia, there have been 3,532 coronavirus cases. The death toll is 117 and 2,377 patients have recovered.

Currently 4,608 persons are self-isolating.

To date 91,486 persons have been tested, including 1,722 over the past 24 hours.

The response team today adopted a decision on the organisation of gatherings of more than 100 persons for the duration of the COVID-19 epidemic. The organisers of such events are obliged to report them to the county emergency centre 48 hours before the beginning of the event and keep a record of the participants.
