The China-CEEC Expo has been held in Ningbou, China since 2015 and was to have been held at the start of June again however due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the expo will be held online, the HTZ informs.
Even though due to the current situation we do not expect a large number of visitors from China, we wish to maintain our presence and visibility on the Chinese market and we are continuing our communication with our Chinese partners, HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic said, underscoring that China attaches significant importance to the China+17 mechanism.
He added that the China-CEEC Expo covers the most developed eastern coast in China including Zhejiang, Jiangsu provinces and Shanghai.
The first round of meetings in the tourism segment will be held via the online fair until the end of June and the B2B online meetings will continue after that.
"Currently it is important to use the advantage of digitisation in these special circumstances... regardless of the current situation, (marked by the pandemic), interest in Croatia is not waning in China and once air travel is stabilises we expect the gradual return of tourists from markets in the Far East," the director of HTZ's office in China, Franka Gulin said.
In addition to the China-CEEC virtual expo, another online fair - Virtual Fair for the European and Chinese tourism industry will be held June 22 - 24.
That fair is being held within the framework of the Partnerships in European Tourism (PET), a programme financed by the European Commission, and it includes virtual b2b fairs, webinars, e-learning and matchmaking events.
