ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - The latest data released by the COVID-19 crisis management team on Monday show that there are currently only 66 active cases of the infection in the whole of Croatia, and information from different parts of the country shows that there are more and more counties with no active cases.

For instance, Lika-Senj County's epidemiological authorities reported today that in the last 44 days there had not been any new case of the infection. Also, nobody in that county is in self-isolation any longer. During the epidemic, 869 local inhabitants, as well as foreigners working there, were placed in self-isolation and this measure is no longer needed in that county.

Since the start of the epidemic, there have been 22 inhabitants in this county diagnosed with this infectious disease, and 21 have recovered, while one patient died.

The eastern county with its seat in Osijek has no more COVID-19 patients who need hospital treatment, and the remaining nine active cases are being treated at home, while three contacts are in self-isolation, according to the information provided by the Osijek-Baranja County epidemiological authorities on Monday.

In the northern city of Varazdin, the last COVID-19 patient who needed hospital treatment was discharged from the local hospital a week ago after recovering.

One more patient resident in Varazdin County is currently being treated in Zagreb's Fran Mihaljevic Hospital for Infectious Diseases.

The head of the Varazdin Hospital on Monday called for patience and caution, explaining that the end of epidemic could be declared only after one month passes after the recovery of the last positive patient.
