According to its vice president Tomislav Makar, ICT companies are directly linked to industries which will be strongly impacted by the coronavirus crisis and their negative results are expected to affect the ICT sector as well.
Makar says the sector has confirmed in this crisis that it can be counted on and that it is strategically important for the economy and society.
He says the restrictions imposed at state level have been appropriate and rational. "Now we expect entrepreneurs to be more accepting towards digital models because by doing so they can avoid significantly negative economic consequences as well as maintain economic activity."
Asked about the introduction of the 5G technology, Makar says lower fees for the radio frequency spectrum are important for further investment and faster development. He says frequencies could be allocated at the beginning of 2021 and that lower fees would also help to raise Croatia's digital economy competitiveness.
