14 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths in last 24 hours, 1,348 recoveries to date

ZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - In the last 24 hours, there have been 14 new infections with the novel coronavirus in Croatia, bringing the total number to 2,076, whereas the death toll has risen by two to 69, Croatia's COVID-19 crisis management team said at a daily news conference on Thursday.

As for the latest fatalities, one of them was a man, born in 1953, and the other was a woman, born in 1938, and they had underlying health conditions.

There are currently 20 patients on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the infection in late February, 36,221 people have been tested, of whom 1,745 in the last 24 hours. The percent of the tests coming back positive is 5.73%.

Currently, 261 patients diagnosed with the virus are being treated in hospitals, eight fewer than on Wednesday.

To date, 1,348 Croatians have recovered from the disease, 60 more than yesterday.

During the press conference, Health Minister Vili Beros extended a congratulatory message to personnel in Croatia's Emergency Medical Service on their day. 

There are 4,074 employees in this services.
