The head of the Cypriot CNA agency and AMAN secretary-general, George Penintaex, sent Hina a message of support, saying that AMAN's steering board had approved a donation of US $10,000 from the agency's fund for Hina.
The Polish PAP agency announced that it would send Hina €10,000 and 15 laptops. PAP Director-General Wojtek Surmacz had already sent a message of solidarity to Hina and the Croatian people who were affected by the earthquake.
The Secretary-General of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), Alexandru Ion Giboi, informed member-agencies that Hina, which is a member of EANA, had been badly damaged in the earthquake and EANA's management expressed its solidarity and willingness to help.
The Director-General of the Russian TASS agency, Sergey Mikhaylov, and the heads of the Dutch ANP, German DPA, and Turkish Anadolu agencies, have also sent messages of support as have agency reporters from Albania, Romania, Cyprus, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece and other countries.
Even though Hina's offices were badly damaged in the earthquake, Hina's management and editors have ensured the continuation of all of Hina's services around the clock.
