In accordance with the European Securities and Markets Authority recommendation (hereinafter: ESMA) published on the ESMA’s website on 11 March 2020, the Zagreb Stock Exchange, Inc. (hereinafter: the Company) with its registered office in Zagreb, Ivana Lučića 2a/22, VAT ID No. (OIB): 84368186611, hereby announces about COVID-19 impact on the regular business activities of the Company.
In the period from February 21 to March 11, 2020, CROBEX lost -21.3% of its value, turnover increased +135% in the same period in comparison to January 2020, while the market capitalization of shares fell -9.7%. In line with the increase in turnover, commission income increased, which typically accounts for about 30% of the Company's total revenue. Given the new situation that has not been reported before, the Company is unable to predict further reactions of investors and other participants in the capital market.
On February 24, 2020, the Company published unaudited financial results for 2019 and does not expect that the COVID-19 outbreak will affect the published results.
