"Croatia is ready to help," Plenkovic said on Friday adding that a Croatian police boat is already in the Greek waters.
Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic said last Wednesday in Brussels that Croatia was ready to send an additional police ship with eight crew members, along with the one which is already on patrol in the Aegean Sea, as well as border police staff to the Greek border.
Plenkovic said today that he was in permanent contact with his counterparts from the European Union to agree on further steps.
A common political solution is being sought to address this crisis, Plenkovic said in the city of Sisak where he presented the agenda of his team for intra-party elections in the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
