The 2nd edition of the "Najdonator" award-giving ceremony was held in the European Parliament in Brussels and the award in the category of food producers who donated the most food, went to the Dukat dairy producer while the Konzum supermarket chain was awarded in the retail category.
In 2018, Dukat donated 192 tonnes of dairy products, worth 2.5 million kuna without VAT, providing a million dairy meals for 40,000 destitute people throughout Croatia. Konzum donated food in the value of HRK 2.2 million accounting for 22% of all donations last year.
According to Tax Administration data, the total value of donated food in Croatia without VAT in 2018 amounted to HRK 9.93 million. That is less than was donated in 2017 (HRK 10.75 million) but more than was donated in 2106 (HRK 9.24 million).
