The publication in Croatian and English was published in 1,000 copies in cooperation between the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb and experts in the field and released by the Ministry of Tourism and presents archaeological destinations on the coast and continental areas as well as UNESCO sites in the country.
"This publication is a sort of guide of 20 carefully chosen localities that, along with their historical and cultural and scientific importance, can attract a lot of tourists interested in the cultural offer because of their attractive potential," the director of Zagreb's Archaeological Museum, Sanjin Mihelic said at the presentation.
He believes that the guide could boost events outside the usual summer season, based on heritage, culture and archaeology.
"We hope that this will be the start of stronger cooperation between tourism and archaeology which are in fact, natural allies and that this publication can be an inspiration for travel agencies to prepare relevant programmes," Mihelic underscored.
