The monument was officially unveiled by a Croatian delegation headed by Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic and Croatian Ambassador to Italy Damir Grubisa.
The monument to one of Croatia's greatest scientists - a mathematician, astronomer, surveyor, physicist and philosopher, is located outside the Milan observatory in downtown Milan and is a replica of the monument outside the Rudjer Boskovic Institute in Zagreb.
Unveiling the monument, Bandic said that with this monument Croatia was leaving a part of its heritage to the citizens of Milan, Italy, Europe and the world, and he hoped that the strength and personality of this prominent Croatian scientist will be recognised by visitors to this park and monument.
