The outlet, where it will be possible to buy clothes at favourable prices as well as bring used textiles, employs people belonging to the most vulnerable social groups - those with disabilities and people who have been out of work for a long time.
The shop currently has four employees, three more are to be hired soon and by the end of the year, the shop is expected to have ten employees.
The outlet, which is an attempt to start dealing with the problem of textile and clothing waste, was opened by Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic, who said that the city authorities were a partner to Humana Nova Zagreb in the project and that they had granted around HRK 700,000 to equip the outlet.
The city sanitation company Cistoca will transport to the shop, free of charge, a part of the textiles and clothing from waste recycling centres and textile waste containers in public areas.
The outlet will soon get a warehouse.
