Increase in passenger turnover at Croatian airports

ZAGREB, July 21  (Hina) - The number of passengers for whom Croatian airports catered this May increased by 8% to 770,000 compared to May 2015, the Croatian national statistical office (DZS) has reported.

Likewise, the number of landings and departures increased by 6.1% to 10,734, according to the figures provided by the DZS.

The highest rise of 16.7% in passenger turnover this May was registered at Pula Airport. Split Airport follows with an increase of 12.3%,  Zadar Airport (5.5%), Brac Airport (5.5%),  and Zagreb Airport (5.3%).

The two airports that registered a decline in passenger turnover were Rijeka (-8.6%), and Osijek (-3.7%).

The highest number of passengers arriving in Croatia in May by air were from Germany (168,300), and from the UK (137,200).

This May, cargo turnover at the Croatian airports rose 7.3% to 650 tonnes.
