Of the 84 athletes, nine are Olympic medallists in individual sports: discus thrower and Olympic champion Sandra Perkovic; shooter and Olympic gold medallist in men's trap in 2012 Giovanni Cernogoraz; gymnast Filip Ude; high jumper Blanka Vlasic; rowers Damir Valent, Martin Valent and Martin Sinkovic; shooter Snjezana Pejcic; and taekwondo practitioner Lucija Zaninovic. The men's water polo and handball teams, who won the gold and the bronze respectively in London in 2012, will also compete.
In the track and field events, there will be ten Croatian athletes. Also, eight Croatians will compete in sailing and seven in shooting disciplines.
