Croatia's Jan-April exports up 1.5 pct, imports up 2.1 pct

ZAGREB, June 9, 2016 (Hina) -  Croatia's exports of goods in the first four months of 2016 went up 1.5 percent on the year, while imports went up 2.1%, according to preliminary figures released by the national statistical office on Thursday.

In the first four months of 2016 Croatia exported HRK 27.5 billion in commodities to foreign markets, up 1.5% on the year. At the same time, imports reached HRK 45.98 billion, up 2.1% on the year.

The foreign trade deficit in the first four months of 2016 was HRK 18.48 billion, up 3.2% on the year. The export-import ratio was 59.8%.

The biggest market for Croatian products was the European Union, where Croatia exported HRK 18.5 billion worth of goods, up 1.3% on the year while imports went up 3.9% to HRK 36.9 billion.
