Visitors can see the show for free until June 5. The foreign exhibitors come from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary and the US. They and their Croatian colleagues will exhibit by the park's lake, showing flowers, cacti, substrates and seeds, machinery, and gardening equipment, among other things.
Visitors can see dry, silk and paper flowers, flower equipment, paintings, collages and scarves with floral themes. They can also taste healthy food and medicinal herb products.
Floraart also features daily entertainment, including plays, story reading and face painting for children, as well as lectures.
Floraart has become part of Zagreb's cultural history and the city is funding it with HRK 2 million, said Igor Toljan, head of the Zrinjevac company, which organised the event. Zrinjevac designs, arranges and maintains public and other green areas in the City of Zagreb.
Toljan added that professionals must be more involved in the strategic planning of landscaping in cities.
A rhapsody of flowers and the garden culture come into focus here at Bundek, said Mayor Milan Bandic, recalling that last year 300,000 people saw the exhibition.
