BRUSSELS/AMSTERDAM, Jan 26 (Hina) - EU ministers of the interior on Monday called on the European Commission to lay the legislative and political groundwork for the possible introduction of border checks within the Schengen area of passport-free travel for a period of up to two years and not the usual six months, in light of the fact that efforts by European countries to control the migrant crisis have been yielding little effect.
