All Adriatic regions recorded a good tourist season and wrapped it up with better numbers than the year before.
Istria is still the strongest tourism county, recording 3.5 million arrivals and 23.6 million overnights, up 8.7% and 5.9% respectively. The biggest individual growth was recorded in Split-Dalmatia County, which had 2.6 million visitors and 14.6 million overnights, up 9.3% and 8.4% respectively.
Lorencin underlined that the number of domestic tourists increased by 10.3% on the year, saying that this is the result of GDP growth, consumption growth and economic recovery.
Germans were the most numerous tourists -- 2.1 million visited Croatia in 2015, an increase of 6.3%.
In Q3 2015, revenues from foreign tourists amounted to 5 billion euros, an increase of 7.5% from 2014. In the period between January and September 2015, those revenues amounted to EUR 7.2 billion, an increase of 7.6% on the year.
