Number of industrial sector workers down

ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - The number of workers in the Croatian industrial sector in October 2015 was 0.2 per cent lower than in September, while in comparison with October 2014 it decreased by 0.5 per cent, according to figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) on Monday.
Work productivity in the first nine months of 2015 increased by 3.2 per cent compared with the same period in 2014.

Broken down by activity, the number of workers in October, compared with September, fell by 0.2 per cent in the manufacturing industry and by 0.3 per cent in mining and quarrying, while in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply it increased by 0.1 per cent. 

Compared with October 2014, the number of workers in the manufacturing industry, which employs 90.82 per cent of the industrial workforce, dropped by 0.1 per cent, in mining and quarrying by 7.2 per cent and in energy, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 2.1 per cent.

Figures on work productivity in the first nine months of this year show that it increased in the manufacturing sector by 3.7 per cent and in mining and quarrying by 10.7 per cent, while in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply it fell by 2.2 per cent.
