After going down for five consecutive months, the monthly unemployment rate remained unchanged in August. A lower unemployment rate was last recorded in October 2009, when it was 15.6%.
Last month's unemployment rate fell by 1.5 percentage points compared to August 2014, when the unemployment rate was at 17.4%, .
At the moment there are 256,250 job-seekers registered with the Croatian Employment Service, which is approximately 500 persons fewer than at the end of August.
According to previously released figures, the number of job-seekers registered at the employment bureau at the end of August was 256,748, down 0.5% on the month and 11.4% on the year.
