Military parade cost state EUR 1.7m

ZAGREB, Aug 27 (Hina) - A military parade in Zagreb on August 4 to mark the 20th anniversary of Operation Storm cost a little under HRK 12.8 million, according to a specification of costs Hina received from the Defence Ministry.
Most was spent on fuel, field work and other fees - HRK 4.75 million in total. The rent and transport of equipment cost HRK 3.6 million, food HRK 1.98 million, services and maintenance products HRK 1.92 million. Participants' costs stood at HRK 428,236. Earlier, the ministry estimated that the parade would cost the state between HRK 10 and 15 million.

The parade in downtown Zagreb marked the 20th anniversary of the military and police Operation Storm, which liberated Knin in August 1995 and the biggest part of the state territory occupied until then by rebel Serbs and the former Yugoslav army. The parade, involving 3,000 participants and 300 vehicles, showed the best Croatian soldiers and military equipment.
