Archbishop Puljic underlined the great importance of the meeting and Patriarch Irinej said that the Serb Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church in Croatia had a lot in common, which obliged them to leave the past behind.
The reason for Patriarch Irinej's visit to Croatia is the 400th anniversary of the Seminary in the Krka Monastery, which will be marked on Wednesday and which will also be attended by Puljic.
Earlier today Patriarch Irinej met with the Serb Orthodox faithful at the Serb Orthodox Church of St Elias the Prophet in Zadar.
Also present during the Orthodox dignitary's visit was a deputy chairman of the Croatian government's Council for Ethnic Minorities, Veselko Cakic, who said the "visit is important for the people, so they would not feel forgotten."
