The HNS has been fined 100,000 euro and has also been ordered to play its next two home matches in UEFA competition behind closed doors and not to play any of its remaining qualifying games at Poljud Stadium. Croatia still has one home game against Bulgaria in this round.
This is the strictest penalty the HNS has ever been given.
Croatia was fined 80,000 euro for hooliganism during the Italy-Croatia match in November last year. After the match against Norway, Croatia was fined 55,000 euro for racist behaviour and ordered to play behind closed doors.
Croatia is set to play Azerbaijan on September 3.
