Croatia's survey unemployment rate falls to 18.1% in Q1

ZAGREB, July 3 (Hina) - A survey by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) shows that Croatia's unemployment rate came to 18.1% in the first three months of 2015, which was down by 0.6 percentage points compared to Q1 2014, the Croatian statistical office reported on its web site on Friday.

The figures of the Croatian Employment Office show that at the end of March, there were 319,211 jobless Croatians and that the registered unemployment rate was 19.7%, also 0.6 percentage points lower than at the end of March 2014.

Analysts of the RBA bank say in their comment that regardless of methodological differences, it is a fact that Croatia's labour market is characterised by a high degree of seasonality, high jobless rates and low activity rates.

The analysts expects the ILO unemployment rate to drop below 17% by the end of the year.
