This is a slightly higher growth of imports and exports compared to the preliminary figures which the DZS released a months ago.
During the period from January through March 2015, Croatia exported HRK 19.8 billion worth of commodities, up 9.7% over the corresponding period of 2014, while imports increased by 7.2% to HRK 32. billion.
The preliminary assessment released in May indicated that exports rose by 7.5% to 19.3 billion, and imports by 4.5% to 31.8 billion kuna.
Expressed in euros, Croatia's exports rose by 9.1% in Q1 2015 compared with the same period of 2014, totalling EUR 2.6 billion, while imports increased by 6.7% to EUR 4.25 billion.
The foreign trade deficit was HRK 112.9 billion, or 3.6% higher than at the end of March 2014 (or 3.13% higher expressed in euros), while the coverage of imports by exports increased from 59.2% last year to 60.5%.
Exports to other EU countries went up by 13.4% to EUR 1.74 billion, while imports from EU countries went up by 10.8%, reaching EUR 3.4 billion.
Exports to CEFTA member states in the first quarter rose by 0.4% totalling EUR 436.5 million, while imports from those countries went down by 8.8%.
Exports to other European countries, including Russia dropped by as much as 31.7% and imports dropped even more -- by 39.5%.
Croatia's most important trading partner continues to be Italy where Croatia exported EUR 339.7 million in commodities in the first three months of 2015. This, however is 5.4% less than in the same period in 2014. Imports from Italy rose by 10.5%, reaching EUR 602.3 million.
