The main reasons noted for being active are health and positive impacts to health (45%) and feeling good after exercising (28%) while the most popular activity is walking, followed by bike riding, while one in every four active citizens jog.
The main reason for not being active is lack of time. Respondents say that work and other obligations do not leave enough time for other activities.
Citizens are on the most part aware of the advantages of being engaged in some sports activity and only 5% don't consider this to be important.
The survey was conducted by the Faculty of Kinesiology of Zagreb University, the Coca-Cola Croatia company and the Hendal market research agency
