Biggest Croatian seaport to host over 260 cruise ships in 2015

SPLIT, April 27 (Hina) - The Port of Split is expected to welcome over 260 cruise ships with about 200,000 passengers aboard this season, and the port has already received bookings for 265 cruise ships in 2016, the head of the port authority, Captain Vjekoslav Grgic, has told Hina.

According to him, most tourists who visit Split aboard those vessels come from the European Union and the United States.

Split is one of the stops on the routes of cruise ships that usually visit Turkey, Greece, Montenegro and Italy.

Last year, 232 cruise ships sailed into the Port of Split, bringing some 184,000 tourists. They stayed one day on average and spent up to 70 euros during their stay in Split.
